THE UNEXPECTED GIFT

Similarly to the Advent booklets, this one was part of the church's Lent series. I decided to play with art that exudes the feeling of a classic technique used by churches across the world and throughout generations: stained glass. A beautiful, difficult craft that is admirable and timeless, but is ultimately only another outlet with which we reflect the gift of creativity from our Creator. I like the juxtaposition of the simplicity of the gospel message - God sent his son Jesus to save us from our sins - and the ornate and saturated colors of the paintings in this booklet.
These booklets were presented to the congregation of the church to be study guides and the art was used for signage, on the app, and as a landing page for other Easter related information. The booklet was also translated into Korean.
